Cody wins Nuevo Laredo Grand Prix in Mexico As one of the National Events in Central America the Nuevo Laredo Grand Prix hosted the 125cc Honda Shifter category which is the largest and most competitive. Competing in this class, Cody proved to be one of fastest in Friday and Saturday Practice. With Cody behind the wheel of the Pitstop/Hi-tech Engines kart, he put together an incredible lap on his very last lap in qualifying that put him and his team on pole (1 st ) to start the race. “The Pitstop kart with Paul Leary's Hi-Tech Engine was the perfect package in Qualifying” reflects Cody. “Coming around the last turn on that last lap I knew I had put together a very fast lap which my Pitstop/Hi-tech package working extremely well” said Cody.
“The kart and engine worked very well in the Final. The other driver seemed fast for the beginning of the race but I made my pass at the right moment and left everyone else behind to win. I would like to thank Alex Menesses from Pitstop and Paul Leary from Hi-Tech engines very much for helping me put a 125cc Honda package together and make this race possible for me” Stated Cody after his win. On the podium and after, Cody was interviewed by the Mexican national television channel and gave thanks to his sponsors in Spanish. “The people who made this event possible did a terrific job” said Cody. “There were hundreds of spectators that filled the grand stands and winning and doing donuts in front of them while cheering for me is priceless.
